I’m a recent college grad, but am considering going back to school to learn about the green industry–and it will certainly become a huge deal in the years to come. I want to get a green job, but without the necessary education (communications major) and small real world experience I doubt anyone would hire me. So why not start over? Does anyone know what types of green jobs exist? If you have a green job, what do you do? Where did you get your education for preparation for this job? What colleges and universities provide an education in this new field of study? (I live in South Jersey) I’m interested in the environment, clean energy, organic farming, even herbal medicine and supplements–any of these (or maybe some fields i can’t even reckon of) would be nice to break into. Thanks!!
Take it this way: Saving the environment (Going green) can help you save green (Money) right? The average American spends a lot of excess money on energy that could be much cheaper than is and renewable as well. And besides, all the environmentalist commercials already told you that the construction on energy generators such as wind vanes, hydro-power dams, and Biomass plants can spike up new jobs immediately. What do you, as the community reckon?
Whoa!!!
In a new television ad McCain launched yesterday, Republican John McCain compares his plot to make the country energy independent by 2025 to President Kennedy’s 1961 declaration to place a man on the moon.
“The real ‘purpose’ of John McCain’s ad is to rewrite the history of how he has repeatedly stood in the way of responsible efforts to make America less dependent on foreign oil and make green jobs,” Democratic National Committee communications director Karen Finney said in a statement. “In his 25 years in Washington, Senator McCain has been a part of the problem, not the solution on energy independence. Instead of political gimmicks and special interest giveaways, John McCain should offer a real plot that promotes green jobs, breaks our dependence on foreign oil, and invests in America’s future.”
cheap for the consumer, maintain profits for the airline industry, reduce fossil fuel use, reduce global warming, help achieve energy independence, make jobs, green the industry, reduce polution, help use resources more efficiently, could be done completely openly without anything needing to be done behind closed doors, it would make shipping cargo or mail by air cheaper, reduce the need for federal bailouts and subsidies, stimulate the economy, provide a greening model for ship building, and comerical trucking manufacturing industries and it would be simple to do accomplishing at least sixteen things simultainiously and easily? If that doesn’t fully justify it how many reasons do you reckon one needs for something to be accepted as an offical political or governmental goal to really be acomplished these days?
I’m graduating from college in less than two weeks. I’m 30 years ancient, and I’m ready to start working. To make a long tale small, I’ve had a lot of odds stacked against me in my life, but I pulled through in the clutch. Anyway, I’m still on the fence about grad school. The economy is in the sewer and jobs are hard to come by. Fortunately, where I live in Texas has been less impacted by the economy. With all things considered, the pickings out there are still pretty slim. If you were me, would you go ahead and go to grad school? Or would you try looking for a job in green energy like I’m hoping to do. I hope I can get a green collar job.
Would anyone mind answering one of these three questions, too?

I really wanna go to the USA! i’ve always wanted to be there! i **** the Uk!
I know what i wanna do! as in a job i wanna be someone who everyone can recognize! like a writer!
But i have been told i need a ‘green card’ to do so!
How can i get this green card to do what ive always dreamed of?
It seems like the only people allowed to pollute under new Cap&Trade restrictions are those that can afford the “carbon credits”.
Which means poor people will not only NOT be able to use “non-green” energy (because they can’t afford to pay for the credits), but they will be paying more for the “green” energy anyway.
Why would anyone support this bill as is?? (One that most of Congress has not read)
http://www.examiner.com/x-8817-Pittsburgh-Conservative-Examiner~y2009m6d30-Cap-and-Trade–A-carbon-tax
Caustic to commerce and the citizenry
Cap and trade can be boiled down to the United States government charging fees for the privilege of emitting carbon into the atmosphere. The bill states that it is designed; “To make clean energy jobs, achieve energy independence, reduce global warming pollution, and transition to a clean energy economy.”
The bill which was just passed by congress will severely limit production of energy domestically, slow economic growth, encourage use of internationally procured energy and cost consumers thousands of dollars per year in increased energy, food, clothing, furniture, appliances and property taxes.
avail………..Do you even know how carbon credits work?? It’s a rather large fraud that doesn’t cut down on CO2 in the slightest.
threegoofs…………..Yes, Al Gore and his cronies will be filthy fking rich. Bravo sheep!!
Obama claims to want to rebuild the infra structure with his so called new deal, so are those that voted for Obama with that supposed higher education are going to grab a pick and a shovel and work on the roads?
Where are these ‘new jobs’ going to be, the “green jobs”? How many here being honest has the brains and the education to made new forms of energy, I would venture to guess slim to none, and that would apply to the majority that voted for the hype, so much for his fantastic green job ploy.
“Bush bailing out his wall street buddies” so you mean like AIG with how many employees? so its okay for Obama to bail out the failed Fannie Mae debacle or the failed auto industry , I gotcha
which special guest spot want to have? would you like to be the one to say, “Gentleman , Start your Engines”, or would you like to be the one to wave the green flag to start the race?
for me, i would want to be the one to yell, “Gentleman , Start your Engines”.
i’d wave the flag, but i might mistakenly drop the flag and be the one to bring out the first caution. how embarrassing would that be?
